UCSF/SFGH Dean's Office - Computing & Network Services
Outlook 2000 Profile Setup
Please note: If you are configuring a remote machine (i.e., one that is not directly connected to the UCSF network), you are REQUIRED to use a UCSF VPN client to access the Exchange server.
- You need to be at the desktop of your computer (i.e., no programs or files open on the screen). Find the "Microsoft Outlook" icon (selected in the screen shot below).

- Once you locate it, right click it and select Properties to open the Properites window.

- Click on the Show Profiles… button to open the Mail window.

- Select your profile name (isurequest in the example) and click the Properties button.
The Microsoft Exchange Server properties window appears.

Please note: Under Microsoft Exchange server: UCSFGH2 is listed as the server name. THIS is where you want to change the name of the server.
- Select UCSFGH2 and type SFGH05 (SFGHzero5) in its place. SFGH05 is the name of the new SFGH School of Medicine Microsoft Exchange 2003 server.

- To verify that the server name and mailbox entries are correct, click on the Check Name button. If everything is okay, both the server name and the name under the mailbox will be underlined; that means that it has resolved correctly.

- Please note: If for any reason, this does NOT work, instead of putting SFGH05 into the Microsoft Exchange server, use 128.218.224.178.
When you are done, click the OK button twice, then hit the Close button to return to the desktop. Double-click on the "Microsoft Outlook" icon on the desktop to begin using your email.
