Eligibility:
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services are available to UCSF/SFGH faculty, staff and students on the SFGH campus for journal articles and books not available in the Barnett-Briggs Medical Library's collection or via online subscriptions.
Due to copyright restrictions, there are limits on the number of journal articles that the Library can obtain through interlibrary loan.
Requesting Interlibrary Loans:
Interlibrary loan forms are available at the Circulation Desk or you can use the online form.
Requested ILL articles are normally received in 2 to 5 working days. Books are normally received in 5-10 working days. Rush service is available if the article is needed for emergency patient care.
You will be notified by phone or email when your ILL is available to be picked up at the Circulation Desk at the Barnett-Briggs Medical Library, in Building 30. If we are unable to obtain your request for you for any reason, you will be contacted.
Book Loan Period:
Books ordered through interlibrary are generally loaned for 2-4 weeks. Renewals must be requested on or before the due date. Loan periods are up to the discretion of the loaning library. All materials should be returned on or before the due date to the Circulation Desk. Failure to return materials in a timely fashion may result in a suspension of your library privileges. You are financially responsible for Interlibrary Loans not returned to the library.
Contact: If you have any questions please contact our interlibrary library loan department at 415-206-3113.
