Current Awareness for Reasearchers

Are you interested in who's citing your work and what's being published in your research area? This class will teach you how to set up customized alerts so you'll be notified of new online content the minute it's available. Class covers use of RSS technology to get the database and other online content of specific interest to you.

Google Docs - Collaboration Made Easy

Need to create a web form or survey but don’t know html? Want to let others help you create or edit a document or presentation easily? This hands-on class will show you the basics of creating documents, forms/spreadsheets and presentations using Google Docs. You will also learn how to edit, share and back up what you create. This class will give you new ideas or help you implement the ones you have.

Online Nursing Resources

Learn about the nursing resources available to SFGH’s DPH and UCSF staff. Class will cover CINAHL Plus with Full Text, Nursing Reference Center, Stat!Ref online nursing books, and registering for and using Loansome Doc. Includes introduction to other services the SFGH library offers that can help you with your research.

PubMed -Basics

Get started searching PubMed, the world's largest and most important biomedical database. Just the basics: when to use PubMed, what it includes, and how to do basic searching and get full text of articles. Includes hands-on exercises. Learn about services the SFGH library offers that can help you with your research.

RefWorks for Citation Management

RefWorks is web-based citation management software licensed by UCSF. This hands-on class for UCSF faculty, staff, and students covers everything you need to get started using RefWorks: creating an account, adding references to a RefWorks library, inserting citations into a Word document, and formatting a bibliography in your chosen journal style.
