Eligibility:
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services are available to UCSF/SFGH faculty, staff and students on the SFGH campus for journal articles and books not available in the Barnett-Briggs Medical Library's collection or via online subscriptions. Requesting Interlibrary Loans: New! You may now use our online form to submit requests. Interlibrary loan forms are available at the Circulation Desk or you can download it (PDF format - requires free Acrobat Reader). Note: if you have the Adobe Acrobat software (5.0 or higher), you can save contact and recharge information in the PDF ILL form for future use.
Please fill out the ILL form in its entirety and sign it to acknowledge that you have read the copyright restrictions. A separate form must be filled out for each item requested. Completed ILL forms can be submitted three ways:
Requested ILL articles are normally received in - 2 to 5 working days. Books are normally received in 4-7 working days. Rush service is available if the article is needed for emergency patient care.
You will be notified by phone or email when your ILL is available to be picked up at the Circulation Desk at the Barnett-Briggs Medical Library, in Building 30. If we are unable to obtain your request for you for any reason, you will be contacted.
Book Loan Period:
Books ordered through interlibrary are generally loaned for 2-4 weeks. Renewals must be requested on or before the due date. Loan periods are up to the discretion of the loaning library. All materials should be returned on or before the due date to the Circulation Desk. Failure to return materials in a timely fashion may result in a suspension of your library privileges. You are financially responsible for Interlibrary Loans not returned to the library.
