The Barnett-Briggs Medical Library keeps current subscriptions to approximately 300 medical, nursing, and core scientific journals. In addition, the UCSF Kalmanovitz Library, through its California Digital Library initiative, has licensed approximately 2,000 electronic health science titles and 6,000 electronic titles in social sciences, engineering, humanities, and other fields as well as in some medical specialties.

Electronic journals usually require a fee for access, but from the Library or elsewhere on the UCSF network, you have automatic access to the journals that have been licensed (fee paid) for UC or UCSF use. Journal titles are continuously being added as they are licensed from publishers by the UCSF Library and the California Digital Library.
