7/1/58 to present totaling 39 years, full time to part time.
General adult psychiatry including consultations, psychiatric evaluations and reports, psychotherapy, psychopharmacological treatment. Retired from direct patient care May 31, 1995 and focused my work on consultation, i.e. part-time Medical Consultant in the Regional Medical Consultant Services - Psychiatry, of the Social Security Administration (since April 1, 1992 to the present), reviewing disability claim files.
Past Employment:
San Francisco Department of Public Health, Mental Health Services - part and full time, since 1958 totaling over 27 years in full time equivalence.
Most recently, 1975 - 1992, in the Division of Mental Health Substance Abuse and Forensic Services as Senior Psychiatrist (2232 - Senior Physician Specialist) at the Center For Special Problems (CSP), 1700 Jackson Street, San Francisco CA 94109. Duties included psychiatric evaluations, consultations and reports, individual and group psychotherapy and psychopharmacological treatment; administrative and clinical supervision of M.D.'s, Ph.D.'s and L.C.S.W.'s. Collaboration with multiple agencies. On 3/27/92 - exercised "early retirement" option. Medical Director until then was Jack Leibman, M.D.
1972 - 1975 as 2230 Physician Specialist, Psychiatry, functioning as "Mental Health Services Director" under the Director of the Out-Patient Department, San Francisco General Hospital providing consultation/education to Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, etc. for multidisciplinary staff. Position was under Division of Ambulatory and Community Medicine with U.C. faculty position as Associate Clinical Professor.
1958 -1963 as 2230 Physician Specialist, Psychiatry, at the Adult Guidance Center (AGC). Was part then full time with general adult out-patient psychiatric duties. Became director 1960 - 1963. The AGC, an alcoholism treatment center, was forerunner to the CSP.
Teaching Position:
Since 1960 a volunteer clinical faculty member of U.C.S.F. Medical School Department of Psychiatry with current status as Associate Clinical Professor. Duties have included case supervision of medical students, interns and residents.
Consultant to U.C.S.F. - Mt. Zion Hospital Home Care Program 1972 - 1994.
(Member, Home Care Service Advisory Board, 1977 -1994).

U.C.S.F. - Mt. Zion Hospital from 1958 to 1994 as Adjunct Attending California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco, Consulting Staff through 1994.
